Job Purpose
The main objective of the position is to examine equipment setup, operation, adjustment, and evaluation or interpretation of test readings or results within established parameters for acceptance or rejection as laid out in the NCAA, CATS and CARS.
Key Responsibilities
To perform efficient and high standard Engineering Supervision as laid out in the NCAA CATS and CARS.
- Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) to determine potential defects
- Perform material characterization and failure analysis
- Perform radiographic examination and other non-destructive examinations
- Use NDT equipment (e.g., handheld, eddy-current, ultrasonic)
- Constant Liaison with Buyers – update daily parts delivery – expected arrival
- Perform diagnostic examinations
- Perform NDT calibrations
- Perform NDT evaluation and inspection
- Label and package parts
- Understand inspection/test procedure to industry standards
- Obtain and interpret inspection reports
- Perform NDT testing (e.g., eddy-current, ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, fluorescent dye)
- Perform NDT measurements (e.g., thickness, size, strength, density, coefficient of friction, porosity, metallography, chemical composition)Supervise the staff allocated to your department
- Update maintenance records on the Quantum system
- Ensure that jobs are closed timeously
- Update and maintain work packs
- Manage / limit overtime to that approved by customer
- Meeting delivery target dates
- Ensure sign-off of timesheets on a daily basis
Requirements/ Experience
- 3-5 years’ proven experience in NDT
- Ability to work overtime and travelling (away from base maintenance may be required)
- Valid drivers license and own reliable transport
- Valid passport
- Knowledge and certification of ultrasonic equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Knowledge of International, and Local NDE standards and codes
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- Licensed AME
- Relevant Type / Course Ratings
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
